Opening Ceremony of the Thai Room at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV)

On September 30, 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi organized the opening ceremony and handover of the Thai Room to the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV). “Thai room” was sponsored by the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham). In the opening ceremony and handover, We was honored by Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, as Guest of Honour; Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador of Thailand to Hanoi; Dr. Pham Lan Dung, President of DAV; Representative side of ThaiCham are Mr. Piyapong Jriyasetaphong – Chairman of ThaiCham, Mr. Chaiyaporn Supanya – Vice Chairman of ThaiCham, Mr. Chalermchai Pornsiripiyakool – Vice Chairman of ThaiCham, Mr. Chinoros Benjachavakul – Vice Chairman of ThaiCham; along with more than 100 guests attended including Representative of sponsors of Thai Room project, Ambassadors and Representatives of the ASEAN Embassy in Vietnam, Other Chambers of Foreign Commerce in Vietnam, Representatives of educational institutions, team of Thailand officials and team of media.

On the occasion, Chairman of ThaiCham, Mr. Piyapong Jriyasetaphong thanked DAV and the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi for supporting the establishment of the “Thai Room”, which is important as one of the symbols of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Thailand – Vietnam Strategic Partnership in 2012 and the 46th anniversary of Thailand – Vietnam diplomatic relationship, as well as reflecting the unity of the Thai private sector in Vietnam as a “quality investor”.

For the upcoming plan of Thai Room,  Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador of Thailand to Hanoi said that “The Royal Thai Embassy will work with DAV and ThaiCham to organize academic activities on issues of interest to Thailand and Vietnam business issues. In addition, the ambassador hopes to be able to work with DAV to improve the development of Thai studies programs at DAV to further strengthen the friendship between Thai and Vietnamese.

The Thai Room was established as a multipurpose room for seminars; Teaching and training students and civil servants of Vietnam and abroad; And being a room for receptions; Thai Room is the first room in ASEAN countries to be established at the DAV Institute, a leading institution in Vietnam.
