On September 9, 2025, ThaiCham, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, organized a hybrid seminar on the topic “Navigating Vietnam Economic Changes & Tax Reforms: Insights for Businesses” at the Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel.
The event was presided over by H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador of Thailand to Hanoi, together with Mr. Praween Wirotpan, Chairman of ThaiCham, and members of the ThaiCham. The seminar featured two distinguished speakers: Mr. Nguyen Thang, Head of Research at Vietcombank, who shared insights on Vietnam’s economic situation and outlook for 2025, particularly in light of U.S. countervailing tax measures; and Ms. Pho Thi My Hanh, Director of Corporate Tax at KPMG in Vietnam, who discussed key regulatory changes in Vietnam’s tax system in 2025, including value-added tax (VAT), e-invoicing, and corporate income tax laws.
The event welcomed over 70 on-site participants and more than 70 online attendees from various Thai businesses, provincial chambers of commerce, and Thai commercial offices.
On this occasion, the Embassy also took the opportunity to update Thai private sector representatives on recent regulatory changes in Vietnam relevant to foreign nationals—such as the electronic identification immigration system, online visa applications, and foreigner ID cards. The Embassy also promoted its consular services and encouraged Thai nationals to register with the Embassy.
Following the seminar, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya hosted a Business Networking Dinner, fostering closer ties and collaboration between Thai and Vietnamese public and private sectors, as well as strengthening the Thai business network in Vietnam.
