The Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, together with ThaiCham, organized the seminar “50 Years of Thailand–Vietnam Friendship: Connecting Supply Chains, Shaping the Shared Future” on 23 Sep 2026 at the Pacific Ballroom, Pan Pacific Hanoi. The seminar was held to mark the 50th anniversary of Thailand–Vietnam diplomatic relations and to promote the exchange of views and further cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, and supply chains between the two countries.

The seminar was honored by the presence of H.E. Mrs. Urawadee Sriphiromy, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, who delivered the opening remarks. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, also delivered a keynote speech and provided information on promoting Thai investment in Vietnam. Government and ThaiCham representatives also shared views on business opportunities, challenges, and ways to strengthen trade and investment between the two countries. The event welcomed more than 100 participants.

The event was divided into two main sessions. The first session, “Connecting Thailand – Viet Nam throughout ASEAN: The Future of Regional Supply Chains,” focused on exchanging views on global economic trends, changes in supply chains, and opportunities to connect the strengths of Thailand and Vietnam to create greater value in the region. The session featured three speakers: Ms. Thanyalak Watcharachaisurapol, Deputy Managing Director of Kasikorn Research Center; Mr. Chakkaphob Nuangchamnong, Country Director of WHA Vietnam; and Mr. Tran Ngoc Khanh, Member of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA) and General Director of OPL Logistics. Phayom Visouveth, Vice Chairman of ThaiCham, served as the moderator.

The second session, “Vietnam FDI & Investment Regulatory Update,” presented information on foreign direct investment (FDI), investment regulations, and tax issues in Vietnam, with presentations by experts from KPMG in Vietnam.

The event reflected the “Three Connects” approach, which focuses on connecting supply chains, businesses, and local communities to create new economic opportunities, strengthen the partnership between Thailand and Vietnam, and support businesses in preparing for future changes in the economy, trade, technology, and investment.

Following the seminar, a Business Networking Dinner was held to provide an opportunity for government and business representatives from both countries to meet, exchange views, and further develop networks for cooperation.

The Seminar and Networking Dinner were successfully held and served as another important platform for connecting government agencies, businesses, and experts from both countries. The event also highlighted ThaiCham’s role as a bridge for economic cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam on the important occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, while helping lay the foundation for new opportunities and sustainable growth in the future.
