ThaiCham delivers relief aid to disaster victims in Lao Cai province
On Saturday, October 6, 2024, ThaiCham delivered relief aid to victims of Typhoon Yagi in Lao Cai province. The aid was received by Mr. Nguyen Huy Long, Chairman of the Lao Cai Business Association, and representatives from the Lao Cai Red Cross Society on behalf of Mr. Vu Viet Truong, Chairman of the Lao Cai Red Cross Society.
The aid provided by ThaiCham included 100 blankets, 30 household kitchen sets, 22 large-scale kitchen sets for schools, 2 water tanks 1,000 liters, 10 cartons of cleaning supplies, and 9,000 jelly juice packs (250 cartons). Some of these supplies are supported by ThaiCham members.
The Lao Cai Business Association and the Lao Cai Red Cross Society expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the support provided by ThaiCham and members. They also shared crucial information about urgent needs in the area, including construction materials for 150 completely destroyed homes, repair materials for 1,000 partially damaged homes, and the reconstruction of 27 schools. Some schools were completely leveled by landslides, forcing students to use public spaces for temporary classrooms and accommodations.
Beyond providing material aid, ThaiCham also extended sincere encouragement to all frontline workers, wishing them good health and success in their efforts to provide relief for the people of Lao Cai province. Furthermore, ThaiCham will share the information gathered with our members to mobilize additional support.
