On November 17th 2023, the final round of the INSEE Prize 2023 concluded successfully in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring the Board of Jury, the top 05 projects selected after two rounds of rigorous evaluation, and esteemed guests. This year’s contestants showcased numerous impressive sustainable construction ideas, emphasizing meaningful community projects.
With the desire to create a scientific playground for the young generation of engineers and architects nationwide, encouraging and honoring their initiatives towards sustainable construction, especially within the community, INSEE has organized the annual INSEE Prize competition. The year 2023 marks the 15th anniversary milestone of the INSEE Prize. The INSEE Prize offers participating students the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired into practice, thereby accumulating experience for their future career paths. The Champion team will have the opportunity to collaborate with INSEE Vietnam to actualize their first dream project, contributing practical values to society. Over the 15 years of organization, the INSEE Prize has reached more than 21,000 students through workshops and received over 3,500 ideas. To date, INSEE has realized nine (09) projects from winning teams through direct investment and the mobilization of VND 13.7 billion, bringing practical benefits to more than 5,100 beneficiaries across the country.
After more than 7 months of implementation, INSEE Prize 2023 has received over 150 creative ideas from students nationwide. This year’s submissions have seen excellent investment, covering solution ideas, materials selection, design, and more. Throughout the competition rounds, the Top 5 projects convinced the Jury Board, composed of leading experts in the architecture and construction industry, to award them a ticket to the final round, mainly based on the practicality and value that the projects aim to bring to the community.
The final round was fierce as the groups defended their projects in front of the judges. After considering all evaluation factors, the Champion prize was awarded to a group of students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, for their project “Mother’s House” – a shelter for women with unexpected pregnancies, with the total prize being worth VND 230 million (including VND 30 million in cash and VND 200 million for project implementation). The project “Hoa Cua Dat” – Children’s Multifunctional House won the 1st Runner-up prize, with a value of VND 15 million. Three (03) Encouragement prizes were awarded to the projects “Green Roof,” “Nang,” and “Dream Coloring Station,” with a prize of VND 10 million for each team.
In the coming time, INSEE will coordinate with the Champion team to implement their dream, continuing the journey of bringing sustainable and meaningful projects to reality, contributing to building a worth-living life as part of INSEE’s brand philosophy.
